November 13,2015: A Day That Will Go Down in History

Today, I'm going to be talking about something different. On the evening of November 13, 2015 in Paris, France, there were a series of terrorist attacks. These attacks consisted of shootings, bombings, and hostage taking. The targeted places were the Bataclan Concert Hall, Stade de France, Le Petit Combodge, Rue de Charonne. Rue de la Fountaine au Roi, and more. 

The most devastating shooting was at the Bataclan Concert Hall, where the US rock band Eagles of Death Metal were performing for around 1,500 people. The band had played around five songs until an explosion was heard. When the crowd heard the explosion, they thought it was just part of the concert and didn't worry about it. Around 9:45 p.m, supposedly four men came into the concert with guns. They shouted something and then opened fire into the crowd. One of the witnesses reported that the attackers also threw grenades into the crowd. They held hostages and if anyone moved, they would kill them one by one. A radio reporter said that the attackers reloaded their guns around three or four times. Between the times when they were reloading their guns, people were trying to escape. The shooting at the concert hall supposedly ended at 12:58 a.m.

At the Stade de France, Germany and France were having a soccer game. Three explosions were heard, but the players continued their game. President Francois Hollande was actually at the game, but once the explosion was heard, he had to immediately evacuate. After, fans that watched the game had to stay until it was safe to go outside.

Later that night, President Francois Hollande had an emergency meeting about these incidents. He closed all borders. Paris turned off the Eiffel Tower's lights due to these attacks to remember more than 100 victims who lost their lives. Countries around the world supported France and had lights be the colors red, white, and blue to represent the French flag.

KCON 2015

On August 1,2015, I went to KCON. KCON is an annual concert and convention where k-pop stars get to meet fans around the world. The convention starts in the morning and the concert is at night time.  It started in 2012 in L.A, but this year, it expanded over to the East Coast and Japan. I actually went to KCON in 2012, which was held on October 13 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine. The artists that performed that year were 4minute, B.A.P, Nu'est, G.NA, Vixx, and Exo-M.

After the concert ended(2015)

This year's KCON lasted for three days, from July 31 to August 2. This year was the first time KCON performed at the Staples Center. Not only did singers come and perform. but film stars made an appearance as well. For example, Ki Hong Lee from The Maze Runner made a special appearance. On August 1, the artists that performed were Monsta X, Got7, Sistar, Roy Kim, and Super Junior. On August 2, the artists that performed were Red Velvet, AOA, Block B, Shinhwa, Crush, and Zion.T. In total, 58,000 people attended KCON in L.A. This concert will always be unforgettable. I actually still remember KCON in 2012. I can't wait for next year's line-up and maybe I'll go again!

Infinite

Infinite is a South Korean k-pop group that consists of seven members. They debuted in 2010 under Woollim Entertainment. Their first full album was Over the Top, which was released on July 21, 2011. Their latest album is Reality, which was released in July 2015. They were so popular that they had a world tour in 2013. Let's take a closer look at all the members.

• He is the main vocalist and leader of Infinite.
• Even when he was young, he wanted to be a singer.
• If he wasn't a singer, he wanted to become a DJ.

Sungyeol

• He was born on August 27, 1991.
• He was the last member to join Infinite.
• Sungyeol has family members who are also in the entertainment industry.
• He is the sub-vocalist in the group.

Dongwoo

• He was born on November 22,1990.
• He learned how to dance from one of his sisters.
• In the group, he is the main rapper, lead dancer, and vocalist.
• If he wasn't a singer, he would want to become a herbal medicine doctor.

Hoya(Lee Ho Won)

• He was born on March 28,1991.
• He did taekwondo but stopped in middle school.
• His mom supported his idea of singing and dancing, but not his dad.
• In the group, he is a rapper, vocalist, and main dancer.

L(Myungsoo)

• He was born on March 13, 1992.
• He is a vocalist and visual of the group.
• He is really quiet.
• He knows how to play the piano and can rap.

Woohyun

• He was born on February 8, 1991.
• He enjoys playing soccer and tennis.
• If he wasn't a singer, he would want to become an athlete or chef.

• He is the main vocalist in Infinite.

Sungjong

• His birthday is September 3, 1993.
• He is a vocalist and the youngest in the group.
• Although he is the youngest member, he still looks out and takes care of the other members.
• One of the reasons why Sungjong wanted to become a singer was because he liked to dance at his high school festivals.
